tretford Carpet continues to optimize its ecological footprint

This April, tretford Carpet will undertake yet another affirmative step towards protecting the environment. Our warehouse roof in Wesel - at Emmelsumer Strasse 218 - will be covered with a photovoltaic system that will allow us to generate 25% of our electricity needs in the future.

It will reduce CO² emissions by around 176.2 tons per year. This investment, which is being done within the context of the EcoProfit project, enables us to reduce our carbon footprint notably.

"Here at tretford, we are committed to operating in an ecologically and socially sustainable and responsible manner," explains Markus Haick, Managing Director of Weseler Teppich GmbH & Co. KG, which manufactures the tretford Carpet brand.

Installation work for this solar power system was carried out in March and it is expected to be up and running in April. In conjunction with other sustainable measures that have already been taken to promote efficiency gains, a savings of 91.4 tons of CO² along with energy savings of 226,700 kWh was achieved in 2019. In the future, we will produce part of the electricity we require from solar energy ourselves. And we will continue our untiring efforts to protect the environment by conserving resources through innovation, dedication and continuity.
