The Forum Groningen houses a library, cinema, debating centre and a museum for comic strips, animation and games. In addition, the Forum includes space for exhibitions, catering, education and a VVV tourist information office. A system of escalators in the central atrium interconnects the different floors.
The cinema halls on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors and the meeting rooms were fully carpeted with tretford carpet made of Cashmere goat hair. Each cinema hall has a different colour concept and the fascination colour pink was chosen for the meeting rooms. Our carpet not only improves the indoor climate, it also provides for pleasant acoustics in the cinema halls.
Forum Groningen is located in the centre of the city of Groningen and forms part of the renovation of the eastern side of the Grote Markt, the city's central square. The entire complex and various parts of the interior were designed by NL Architects in Amsterdam. Other architectural firms were also involved, including the architectural collective Munnik-deJong-Steinhauser, &Prast&Hooft and Northern Light.
The Forum quickly has become known as the city's living room. The tretford carpet sheets in various colours emphasise the homelike character of the building.
